Ben on Film - The death of biopics is greatly exaggerated
The biopic, Newsweek informs us, is dead – “as dusty and outdated as the set of Encyclopedia Britannicas in your parents’ attic,” according to writer Ramin Setoodeh in the magazine’s Feb. 11 issue.
Setoodeh’s thesis is that a number of biographical films – biopics, as Variety dubbed them – have tanked at the box office lately.
